Marianne Elliot former check-out girl at the local branch of woolies and without a doubt Punk Rocks most effective, hearty, original punkette vocalist ever ! Friendly, colourful and infatuated with plastic society, Miss 'dayglo warrior' fronted one of the most original Punk outfits (forget that two of them went on to play with Classix Nouveaux !) of this era. With her unique vocal delivery and the use of saxophone in their chainsaw compositions made X Ray Spex a one-off.

This shy Brixton girl complete with toothbrace threatened the world ..."I would shave me 'ead tomorrow if I became a sex symbol !" But fate had other plans in store for punks Stockwell tube visionary. Poly's art-i-ficial, alienated lyrics would later become a precursor to her ant-fashion status. As with most of her original contemporaries the X Ray Spex bubble was soon gonna burst. She became disillusioned with the music business and her world really did turn dayglo one day.

Yeah that same sickly bright orange colour that the Krishna monks who chanted up and down the Tottenham Court Road banging their gongs worn on their sahri's. She discovered religion in a big way ! And joined the Krishna sect ! Poly did make a brief comeback on home turf at the Brixton Academy in '89. And released a piss poor follow up to the classic 'Germ Free Adolescence' LP. But the anger and urgency had gone forever ! She now lives with her husband (fellow priest) and daughter Celeste in London.

Laura Logic.Played the distinctive saxophone in X Ray Spex early line- up.Aged 16 she left the band in 1977 then formed her own band Essential Logic.
