| This newly arrived American from Ohio got herself a
short spell as yet another Sex Shop assistant where she
became an acquaintance of Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten.
However her short sartorial retail career was heading for
a nosedive. She soon clashed with Vivienne and was swiftly booted out the job. Also wrote sex letters for the sex
magazine Forum at one stage. This leather jacketed
loudmouth of a guitarist was gonna marry Sid Vicious to
help her keep UK residency and she paid him a princely
sum of £2 for the honour.
Sid however being his ever resourceful self was up in court on a criminal damage charge so it was not to be. Chrissie also gave Johnny Rotten his first guitar lessons but to no avail. After several failed group ventures such as Johnny Moped (aka Sissy Bar), fronting a band in France and supposedly recording with the infamous but probably fictional Moors Murderers band and 999 she went on to form the successful Pretenders and had a string of hits in the 70s and 80s. She is now a militant name on the anti-vivisection front. We won't mention her marrying Jim (wan) Kerr of Simple Minds. |
