More luxurious than the den of the toilet iniquity that was the Roxy. The Vortex on Wardour Street was the next bastion of Punk though ironically initially started by ex Roxy owner Andy Czezowski.

Like its counterpart it had a live album but was run by the ex soldier and colourful character John Miller and had its fair share of shady connections including Angolan mercenaries.

Lasting a mere nine months it also put on some of the greatest Punk and reggae bills of the late seventies and it's Monday & Tuesday nights became part of the Punk calendar for a great many punks. It closed in March 1978.
