Mad Daddies MySpace Top 30

....so here you have it, my personal choices from what has been a fantastic year on MySpace, I hope you all find it eclectic enough, in my eyes there should be something there for everyone who visits Punk77. Out of the thirty bands included in the chart, eleven have been "featured artists" over the past twelve months, that leaves nineteen that should be new to you. Therefore if anyone is particularly struck by any of those songs, let me know and I'll do a feature and maybe an interview with them over the coming months. Go to the TalkPunk forum and PM me; I'd love to hear your comments.

Two Seconds>>>

1) Steadfast Kickdrum-Two Seconds
The first of Sierra Frosts THREE bands to make the festive chart. The seventeen year old Californian is a rare talent indeed.  http://www.myspace.com/twoseconds

On of many standout tracks from a New York foursome hugely indebted to the British post punk scene.

Distinctly lo-fi Ohio floating collective that revolves around Lee Keeler whose knack for an instant tune echoes Neil Young on this track. http://www.myspace.com/dolbyfuckers

16) Hemlock 3-Elephone
San Francisco genius Ryan Lambert and his band are a surefire bet for stardom, sooner rather than later I fancy! Although she's not on this track they now include a certain Ms Frost amongst their number. Go to the top of the class say I. http://www.myspace.com/elephone

 http://www.myspace.com/popularworkshop
I love this band! One moment discordant the next beautifully melodic, these chaps have clearly done their indie history homework. Top stuff!

26) What They're Saying-The Preakness
At some point over the past year The Preakness have had some sort of epiphany, either that or they have made a pact with the devil because the improvement in this three piece is truly astonishing. Sixties tinged indie folk in the same vein as The Essex Green. Bloody marvellous. http://www.myspace.com/thepreakness

27) Kids Look At The Waves-Flotation Walls

Have a little bit of summer sun in your Christmas stocking courtesy of Bristol's Santa Dog....well they had to make the festive chart did they not? Uplifting, joyous pop, the word "fab" was made for tunes like this!
