Before we proceed onto the investigation it's necessary to give you an insight into the real life Moors Murderers and their crimes as it helps to understand the reaction to the band.

The Moors Murderers were Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. The mere mention of Myra can provoke a storm of outrage and hate. She and Brady have entered public consciousness and the image of her with peroxide hair and dark merciless eyes stands as a personification of evil.  Back in '77 however, adverse publicity as the Pistols showed was not a bad thing which will account for why people were willing to be involved or interested.

Without doubt Ian Brady and Myra Hindley are the two most infamous killers in the UK today and who even today 30 odd years years after their crimes and imprisonment still evoke the same hatred and fear. Named the Moors Murderers by the media, Brady and Hindley tortured, raped and murdered ten year old girls while taping their screams.  They raped persons of both sexes, killed and buried them on the moors and coolly picnicked on their graves. Brady invited a friend around the house to watch as he finished off axing a teenage male victim.  Brady and Hindley, the quiet and unassuming clerk and typist who lived together and murdered God knows how many. Brady who liked to listen to Hitler's speeches and Hindley to dress up as a domineering Nazi.

Both had been given life sentences and would most likely die in jail. Hindley died at the end of 2002. Brady unrepentant lives on.
