Eater - Afterwards

So Whatever happened to the boys? An incomplete guide

Andy Blade
Much was made of a collaboration between him and Bryan James and in fact two tracks came out later on a free single with an Eater comp on Delorean. Shame because the two tracks are excellent and a prerunner to the style of the Lords Of The New Church. Blade had such a good rock voice.

Phil Rowland
Went on to join the short lived Studio Sweethearts with Mike Rossi and Howard Bates from Slaughter & The Dogs then joined  Slaughter & The Dogs playing on among others the
Bite Back album. At times drummed for the Nipple Erectors. Now based in the USA and out of the music business.

Ian Woodcock
...who knows...possibly joined the Vibrators in one of their many later incarnations and now lives in the Far East working for Puma.. comes home 4 times a year to watch West Ham play!

Brian Chevette
Went for a rest and never came back...well did for the reformation then went away again!

As For Dee Generate
Out of the music business and working in social services.

Gary Steadman
Resurfaced in 1980 as the replacement guitarist for Jak Airport in Classix Nouveaux

Social Demise
Went back to being hippy and Andy Blades brother!

Eater occasionally reform without fuss or pomp to play gigs . Here's a quote from Punk Throwback 3 Autumn 2001 with a quote from  Passivity=Compliance 4 Fanzine talking about a Fugazi gig in 1999.

"Someone tells me the second band on are Eater...as the four guys in suits tune up and start their set, the music is garage-y late 70's punk, but surely they don't look old enough to be the Eater? When they break into Lock It Up I compute that as they were 14/15 in 76/77, these thirty somethings must be the real thing! Bizarre!"

Pure magic!
