Adrenalin

For every punk band that made it onto vinyl there were probably ten that didn't. Adrenalin fall into the latter category but things could have been very different. Formed in 1975 in Torquay as a high energy r'n'b band and converted to punk in '76 after vocalist Ian Roberts witnessed the Anarchy tour at Woods in Plymouth, the band entered the recording studio in the spring of 1977 to record a single for Step Forward Records with Kim Turner producing. The three songs recorded, TV Violence/No Love (In The Modern World)/Don't Tell Your Parents, are all fine examples of '77 punk which would have made a memorable single. Things didn't turn out as planned though as soon after bassist Adrian Stephens moved to London to be replaced by Kirk Brandon, the band split up and the single was never released.

Ian Roberts - Vocals/Guitar, Mike Farrow - Drums, Adrian Stephens -Bass/Vocals, John Fuller - Guitar.

The story doesn't end quite there though. Main man Ian Roberts moved to London himself in '77, eventually joining up with Rat Scabies in his post Damned project The White Cats. The band members that remained in Torquay became Pack Of Lies before Brandon and guitarist John Fuller moved to London themselves to continue as The Pack. Fuller (by then known as 'Suede') eventually ending up in an early incarnation of Culture Club. Ian Roberts left the music scene until the 90's when he made a splash on the European blues scene as a member of The Nightporters. He currently has a new band The Weathermongers.
