Please Kill Me -  Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain

Written by the writers of Punk magazine this book is the story of American punk through interviews with the characters themselves till it builds up a complete picture of the scene from start to finish. It really gets under the skins of the characters and it reads like a cheap trash novel except the characters are real. It genuinely brought a tear to my eye (ahh) because you meet say Johnny Thunders at the start of the Dolls and you read his life right till he dies in New Orleans .. I can't recommend this book enough; a true life soap opera of an era.
